Central Stickney School District #110 is seeking applications to fill the school board vacancy resulting from the resignation of Mr. Joshua Sears due to a change in residency. The individual appointed to this seat will serve on the School Board from November 20, 2024 until May 2025. The mission of Central Stickney School District and Charles J. Sahs School, in cooperation with students, parents and community, is to provide a safe educational environment that encourages all children to reach their fullest potential while promoting academic growth, building character, developing citizenship, and creating life-long learners.
Applicants for the Board vacancy must at a minimum:
Be a United States citizen
Be at least 18 years of age
Be a resident of Illinois and the District for at least one year immediately preceding the appointment
Be a registered voter
Not be a child sex offender
Not hold another incompatible public office
Not have a prohibited interest in any contract with the district
Not be a school trustee
Not hold certain types of prohibited State or Federal employment
Show familiarity with the Board’s policies regarding the general duties and responsibilities of a Board and a Board member, including fiduciary responsibilities, conflict of interest, ethics, and gift ban. The Board’s policies are available on the District 110 website at www.sahs.k12.il.us
Interested applicants should submit a resume and a letter of interest that includes why he/she should be considered for the position. Interviews will take place on October 21st and candidates will be contacted to schedule an interview time.
